International Health Alliance is a group of professionals who have worked in many areas of Central America through a variety of Medical Mission groups since 1992. At this time we have committed our focus to the Southeastern villages of the Peten region of Guatemala.
The region resides in what is now the largest remaining tropical forest in Central America. It's primarily indigenous population suffers because of deforestation, poor soil quality and crop production. To help ease this suffering IHA has developed a number of projects to address the medical and infrastructure needs of Peten's people.
General Medical Elective
Our main project is a 4 Week General Medical Elective for students, residents and professionals in the allied health fields. This program offers participants the opportunity to gain valuable medical experience while helping others.
